(AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals are having a tough time getting back to Boston for the World Series.

Manager Mike Matheny says mechanical problems have delayed the team flight on Tuesday. Game 6 is Wednesday night, with the Red Sox leading the Series three games to two.

Matheny said the players had been sitting aboard the plane for a couple of hours. There was no definite word on when the grounded Cardinals would take off.

The Cardinals hadn't planned to work out at Fenway Park on the off day.

Michael Wacha is set to start Game 6 for the Cardinals. He said his teammates had been watching movies on the plane and relaxing.

There has been rain in the St. Louis area all during the day.
